The Man

The poster here is the 1st place winner of the statewide Poster Contest. This is a beautiful poster and the 11th grade winner is defintely an artist of its own kind. Hopefully soon, you will see this poster in stores as post cards, that is our goal and I believe God will make a way.

History is indeed made up of significant events which shape our future and outstanding leaders who influence our destiny. I feel so honored and priviledged to have spent the last couple days celebrating a man that paved the way. This weekend was very memorable and I personally will cherish the moment forever.

I personally feel that Dr. Martin Luther King's contributions to our history place him in this inimitable position. America needed a Martin Luther King, to expound, expose, and extricate our society from so many wrongs. And, I'm so glad he answered the call. In reality, he provided a candle and he became the light to shine on a road that was less travelled. A road for all people to unite and share together in and for equal justice. This man's qualities cannot be underestimated nor taken for granted.

As we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today, lets remember him for paving the way and mending those broken fences that society was separating. Keep his dream alive by becoming that individual, that person, that home, that community, that city, that state that made the difference.

I think if we would impart daily into our lives Gandhi's philosophy and techniques and the believes of Dr. King; the Dream will live on and on and on. Because, truly; "The quality, not the longevity, of one's life is what is important." MLK ...

Thank you Dr. King for being the drum major who was able and ready to lead our nation to greater heights through love and peace.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
