2011 The Year of The Black Women

Ladies get ready. Take your place. Word in the News is: This is our year!

2011 is The Year of "The Black Women".

Take Your Place

What happened to us? Who are you? Do you know who you are? What happened to the pride and the dignity and the love and respect that we had for one another. Where did it go. And how, How do we get it back? I'ma tell you.

Young Black men, take your place. We need you. Your sons and daughters need you. Did you understand what I just said. You were sold off and had no choice, yes but now it's time to stay. Take your place. Now. Starting now. Starting now.

Young black women, you are more than your thighs and your hips. You are beautiful, strong, powerful. I want more from you. Take your place.

I took part of the poem that Cicley Tyson recited in Madea's Family Reunion. I was watching and every time I hear it, I feel it deep down in my soul.

What keeps us from taking our place? Is it fear, complacency, confussion, etc. Whatever it is, I'm ready to stand tall and get it back.

I have a place, you have a place and the time is now to "Take Your Place."

R ~ E ~ L ~ A ~ T ~ E

I've been thinking about how I relate to people. Actually, I've been thinking alot about this and I thought well, let's just break down what relate/connects means to me.

I'm considered a very stand offish type person and it's hard at times for me to relate and connect. When I make a connection with someone and truly begin to connect, it normally has everything to do with respecting, encouraging, listening, advicing, trusting and empowering.
R ~ RESPECT
E ~ Encourage
L ~ Listen
A ~ Advice
T ~ Trust
E ~ Empower

People that we care about, we should relate and connect with them in ways that let them know they are important. Lyfe is too short not to connect and relate with friends and family.

Why don't you start today and take a moment to R~E~L~A~T~E with someone you care about today? If you have anything different, I would love to hear what the word means to you.

My Strong and Powerful Black Man

Beautiful Black Man
by Victoria Z

Like a lion that stands over his pride
And has dominion over his land
You are fearfully and wonderfully made
A Strong and Powerful Black Man

You are a centrifugal and driving force
That draws me deeply into you
You are everything that my heart desires
Your love I could never refuse

Even in those times when it seems
That the world knows not your name
I will always be there to remind you
Of your strength, your pride and your fame

Though most personify fear of you
Because of what they do not know
For it is not what their eyes can see
But rather what their hearts truthfully know

That your abilities are limitless
Your hands can accomplish any task
Even when it seems impossible
You always manage to show contrast

I am only trying to reassure you
That I am the exception to the rule
That I will love you no matter what
Win, draw, or lose

Even when you are feeling
That you have lost your place in this land
Sometimes being portrayed and even told
That you are less than a man

Don’t you give in to anger
Please don’t hold your head down
Exhibit your strength and your pride
Remember, you wear a crown

Because You are still a King amongst Kings
In my world, you are high in demand

Remember, I do love you no matter what

Happy New Year to all my readers!

This year, for the first time, I have made no resolutions. I think this is the first in over 10 years where I haven't set some type of rules, guidelines or must do's/can't do's. haha.

My New Year is currently moving onward to a great start unlike the previous year of 2010. You know, I'm really feeling at peace with my life and how it is unfolding.

One thing for sure tho, I want 2011 to be a year of growth, prospering upward, maturing in areas where I am weak so that I can be made stronger. Everything isn't the way I would like them to be, but I'm learning to accept and move forward with change. Happiness isn't based upon circumstances (although it helps). smile.

I wish all my readers a very happy new year filled with opportunities, good health, and growth on every level!

Lets journey together, another year, on a pathway that leads us to destiny.

I love all my readers.
