Open letter to self

Dear Self,

Hello there and how are you feeling tonight? Your laughter is so amazing. I love hearing you laugh.

Yea, you're right. I haven't written you in a while. I'm very sorry, I've been so busy lately and I know that's no excuse. You know I haven't been neglecting you, I just haven't sat down and taken tyme to write.

You seem to be doing quite well. I really think, this is the best I've ever seen you. You seem to carry a glow and I was told you been a ray of sunshine.

The closet told me, that you pick up the pounds you lost. Those pants said, yea girl; the booty is back! lol.

I heard from Diva's World and they said that you're doing well financially, spiritually and personally. Of course, we know it could be better. But, you know I like how you make the best of it and keep on being you.

The heart told me all about that certain someone and how he is just too divided. Pain told me, you wanted to give your all but he was way too divided and not ready for what you wanted and needed. That's really too bad.

Girl, Seems like you've moved past all that though. I'm sure it's been hard for you. Social City said, you been on a lot of people's minds lately. They said, since you moved on, men are buying, driving and flying to see you! My my, what a little social butterfly you've become. Isn't it a good feeling to be desired? You deserve it, so enjoy it.

But yea, vulnerability tells me: you still think about him? I know, I know you do. Five years is a long tyme to give of yourself and then forced to have to throw it all away. Dayuumm, I heard your heart say; I miss him. Wow.

I heard, he told you; how you inspired him to give to someone else. That really bothered you, didn't it? I know you wanted it for you. Just too bad he didn't feel the same and I know, you wanted him to give to you.

And The Dream. I know, that shoe dream. That really got to you too; didn't it? You mean, you really can feel him rubbing your shoe at night? No way! How can you feel him rubbing? Hmmm. Girl, you need to come off that trip.

As I come to a close. I just want to say to myself: some nights I can feel him rubbing my shoe and I ask: Why? Why, doesn't he want to be loved by me? I ask myself, if the desire is that strong; what keeps pooling him in another direction? Then, I snap back and remember what keeps him divided and pooled in another direction.

Well, I just wanted to share my feelings and I just wanted to say:

I feel him rubbing my shoe. I really do. And, I do miss him. Inspite of...

Tho Art Loosed

Woman -

Yea. You, I'm talking to YOU!

Honey Child, if you don't know by now; Let me shout it out to ya'll. WOMAN - THO ART LOOSED! I know, I know, you are probably wondering and probably saying to yourself; loosed from what? Well, honey; let me break it down like this:
You are: Loosed from all the emotional burdens,
mental stressful mishaps, past and present hurts,
helplessness, stomping defeats, haters, cheaters
liars, backstabbers, damn playas, charmas, users,
and lastly the concerns that come with taking care of others.

Woman - Oh, Yea. Thou Art Loosed.
Emotional bondage, let it go!
Mental stress, set it free.
Heart ponding burdens, oh, you got to go!
Haters attacking my name, Oh yea, I see you.
You got to go!
Release that thing and let it go!

Now...Take a deep breath...Relax - Let it go and Breathe!!!

Ghetto RedCarpet

If you been invited to an event by a brotha and he's waiting for you at the REDCARPET, make sure its not the GHETTO REDCARPET:
Diva's as we get our social on, theres a few MUST KNOW's when deciding which functions you want to attend and who you want to attend with. I think, Together we can save ourselves the embarassment and avoid becoming victims of red table cloth events aka "Ghetto RedCarpet". lol

Early Prevention :
Stay away from events with misspelled promotional ephemera
overbearing re-tweet invitations
spam mail invitations.
Misspelled banners or a banner mended together with masking tape may imply that the promoters are inept or downright careless. Either way, don't risk being caught mingling with a bunch of boneheads. Your time is better spent elsewhere.
If you're in doubt, discretely ask around: peers, public relations professionals and even well organized street teams are great sources of information.

Same Day Prevention:
A building’s facade can be deceiving but take notice of the actual carpet. True red carpet events have Red Carpets! If the walk to the door isn’t bedecked by a real carpet or if the carpet has more stains than a Motel Six bedspread in Newark leave the vicinity immediately! Turn around and RUN< RUN < RUN

Early Damage Control:
A real red carpet event does not require nine promo teams sifting through multiple, unorganized VIP/RSVP lists. Official red carpet hosts are savvy and know who’s who before they arrive.

Think about the entrance to a “Super Cuts” versus a fabulous spa. If it feels like you just entered the former, save yourself the grief and exit without delay. The chaos at the door is a certain precursor to a disastrous event. Good Lord, imagine the dysfunctional bottle service.

If entry to the event requires a hand stamp – GET OUT FAST! RUN < RUN < RUN

Impromptu Damage Control:
Once inside, look at your surroundings. Are attendees drinking out of Dixie cups or eating hors d’oeuvres off paper plates? It’s time to leave. These ghetto-fabulous promoters are more interested in frugality than distinction. A red carpet event is not a glorified high school house party. RUN < RUN < RUN

Be observant: are the attendees standing around craning their necks trying to find a VIP? Don’t be a gawker. Quickly and without attracting attention proceed to the closest exit and chalk the event up to a lesson well learned.

Red carpet affairs are dress to impress events. Are you surrounded by chicken-heads with more muffin tops than Starbucks?

Follow the previous escape instructions and treat your fine looking self to a latte –better to be fabulous at Starbucks then be caught cavorting with hood rats.

I found this on internet and thought it was hiliarous!

THE MAN WITH THE DIVIDED HEART

Written by Letitia L. Hodge
From the Book:
“Shadows of Love: Inside the H’Art of a Poet”
Copyright 2006

I ran across this poem in my poetry book and wanted to share. Tonight, it made me think about someone very special. I loved this man so very much and all I ever wanted, was for him to find my glass shoe and come for me.
He never did, but you know what? I still love him. Inspite of...

okay, okay enough of my wishing, let me move on. Here's the poem:

When you fall in love with a man who has a divided heart,
your relationship is doomed right from the start.
As he tries to convince you that things are better than they seem,
he leads you down a path of empty promises and unfulfilled dreams.

Hot and steamy lovemaking filled with passionate cries are followed by
unanswered calls, disappearing acts and insulting lies.

His smooth and crafty words resonate in your head, as you lie awake at
night in a cold and empty bed.

Being shuffled about like a deck of cards and feeling like a fool, is the price you
pay for being in love with a man who’s totally confused.

You deserve to be loved by a God-fearing man who is stable and sincere, not a man
who has become an expert at saying things every woman wants to hear.

Get out of this mess, Girlfriend! God has better plans for you.
He wants to rebuild your inner spirit and make it better than new.

You are a precious Child of God. You are beautiful and way too smart,
to stay in a damaging relationship with a man who has a divided heart.

p.s., I'm dedicating this poem to:
"The Man with the Divided Heart and the Woman that he would not let love him".
peace & blessings.

“I am humbled,” said Washington to the Northwest Indiana Times. “I am in a mode of gratitude and thanksgiving right now.”

University officials said they couldn’t recall ever having a black valedictorian.

Disguss

I try real hard to see the good in people. Lately, this one particular person just totally disgusses me. I have learned so much about the hidden deception and character of this person and nothing is off limits for them. Nothing.

I just wonder, has this feeling ever happened to you? At some point in lyfe, have you ever encounter upon someone who misled you? Where you thought someone was so loyal, trustworthy, honest, caring, and goes out their way to make the world a better place; And then, you find out its all a mask of deception? Wow! This is where I am right now, in total disgust.

I don't see this person too often any more, but when I do...my stomach turns sour.
I never felt that way about anyone before. Well, I take that back, My ex-husband and I never thought anyone could be worse than him. He's almost a saint in comparison. Damn, at least he didn't hide his.

When a person hides behind a mask and is completely and totally the oppossite behind closed doors, they leave you with a disgusting feeling. Their actions are totally oppossite of what they claim they stand for and believe. It is disgusting!!

I've lost all respect and despise them for all the trickery they stand for. Respect is earned and truly behind the mask, they deserve NO RESPECT. It's disgusting.

I can't even stomach seeing the sight of this person anymore. It leaves a disgusting taste and feeling that makes me want to throw up!

Life is:

Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.
