Art Appreciation 101

I like art and it amazes me that down through the years men have carved statues, painted pictures and even written songs about the beauty of women. Yet, we as women still struggle with having a sense of our own beauty. Why?

Well, whatever the reasons are; I think it's high tyme we start believing in the press that's pictured about us!

Yep, Art Appreciation 101 begins right here and right now. While I visited New orleans and Atlanta, I made it a point to visit Art museum. I admire the fine lines, sculptive cuts and designs of art. It's tyme we view our selves as the beautiful sculptutres waiting to be seen.

Let's start out by first:
1. Look in the mirror and face it. Yep, face the facts. Face that you are a beauty piece of art. You see, when God made you; he said, "Oh yea, this is good"!
2. Learn how to accept compliments gracefully with a simple, thank you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
3. Try to begin feeling warm, vibrant and breathing lyfe in with a whole lot of love to give and share.
4. Know the secret and one real source of beauty by understanding that your beauty truly comes from an inward expression. Fix yourself up on the inside, so that your outer beauty can shine.

If you have difficulty feeling beautiful, try going to an art museum and find a piece of art that reminds you of you. Study it and ask yourself, why does this piece of art look beautiful? Then you can go home and look at yourself once again and begin to ask yourself: Why did the painting or sculpture look so beautiful and yet I can't see that same beauty in me? Sounds, stupid but trust me; it works!

Dear Lover of my soul:
Help us to see ourselves as you see us. Let those things that you show us move. Let them move from our minds, to our hearts and then let it take root and grow.
Dear Lover of my soul, please erase any hurtful words, unedifying thoughts and negative comments that play apart with our inner beauty. Replace those words, thoughts and comments with renewed, refound, refresh identity.

We truly are a beautiful piece of artwork!

OLDER MEN ROCK...hmmm

“I’m not interested in age. People who tell me their age are silly. You’re as old as you feel.” – Elizabeth Arden.

I believe in that statement to the fullest. You are as old as you feel for sure and the older I get the younger I want to feel! That's why I believe I've been so attracted to younger thug type dudes. I'm trying to get the thug mentality out of my head and change my appetite some. Time to change what I've been eating and lately I've been on the cougar tip too hard! Could be another reason for loss of weight, they have been too satisfying or fulfilling lately. lol

I found this article and believe it to be true. To be upfront and personal, I want a man who is mature, stable, confident within himself, secure, respects and appreciates me as his woman but still let me do me. For me, it doesn't really matter his age as long as he holds it down but I ready to sway to a new attitude of "Older Men Rock". That's what I want, I'm sure every woman wants this as well.

They say that age is just a number, and it doesn’t really matter that’s why more women are much attracted to older men. I am ready to sway and adventure out to find out.
Do older men rock, I wanna know?

OLDER MEN DO ROCK!...hmmm...

A recent research found that relationships where men are much older than women last longer, than women being with younger men, or those of their age. I found this list of the top reasons why women prefer older men and though I would share:

Here are the top reasons why women love and prefer to be with older men:

1. They have this sweet and gentlemanly attitude towards their lady;

2. They are more open-minded, considerate, understanding, appreciative and attentive to her;

3. Being the matured one, they treat their lady like a princess, and their mature appearance is more irresistible and classy;

4. They know what they’re doing and what they want.

5. They don’t change their minds as fast as younger men would;

6. They are more confident because of their wisdom and experience; and

7. They offer stability and security.

I do recognize that older men are more romantic and sweet they seem like they are more settled. And, I wanna find out. It's exciting to finally change my view and let go of old attractions.

The article stated that men who are younger, or of the same age as they are to be short of goals, ambition and money. Their lives are also full of drama; it revolves around friends, drinking, and partying. This is definitely true!!!!

They say, Middle aged men have already passed that stage, and are more concerned about their future which greatly appeals most to women. It certainly does appeal to me.

So ladies do you agree that older men rock? Would you prefer to be with someone older? And if you’re a guy, do you agree that when you’re older you are more desirable?

Ladies, Do you feel you are being smart if you chose an older guy for a mate rather than a younger one?

Booty Call vs Relationship

I had a real bad visit the other day and it prompt me into doing more thinking on the subject of booty calls. Actally, it made me finally sit down and write this post.

For those of us that's been in a situation like this, we cant keep blaming the dude. At some point, we have to hold ourselves accountable. Unless, this is our first time and with that said; if it didn't make you happy "let it be your last".

I hope I really get some feed back and people won't just scam through my blog, read and not leave any comments. But none the less, I write to get my thoughts, feelings, ideas and opinions out.

About a week ago, a young girl came to house with some normal feelings of self love, self respect and being tierd. She was very upset and in tears explaining what happened. Her issue is like the next woman who is just tired of being a booty call and wants to feelo the longing of a hug, smile and companionship. She said to me and I'm asking you the same question that was asked of me.

Why does he only want me for booty? She thought he was geniune and wanted to spend time but it ended in sex. She said, she hasn't heard from him in 6 days and later that day she received texted and he told her she knew the deal.

I was recently told, by my dear friend, that it's not the man's fault that we are sexy and look good. lol. I guess we should be sloppy and go back to dressing like a nun. hahaha.. well,

Her circumstance like many others, led me to ask myself: How do you help a woman overcome feelings and desires that she longs for in the opposite sex? How many young women are out there searching for this same type of connection and getting the same results?

My heart goes out for this young girl. These types of situations happens all the time when both parties aren't on the same page. Here, She thought they were dating and he wanted to be with her and he straight out said (after the fact) naw, its just a sex thing.

I personally feel, that both parties should lay it out and ask/tell what it is that you want. If they can't agree to fulfilling your request, then make the decision to move on or go along. In any event, be upfront and honest.

After, letting her cry it out and listening to her; I took her to my computer and pulled up the defination to bootycall which is: A booty call is a telephone call, other communication, or visitation made with the sole intent of arranging a meeting for sexual acts with the person being contacted. It is associated with casual sex between people who have established a casual relationship, "friends with benefits. Sometimes the truth hurts, but I'm a firm believer that only the truth will set you free.

Bootycall:
If you only get a call late night....yep, you're a booty call.
If you only get a text and you're a hidden party where no one knows you are messing around... yep, you're a booty call.
If he leaves soon after he bust it...yep, you're a booty call
If the guy doesn't want to see you no other times...yep, you're a booty call.
If you don't hear from him for days after sex....yep, you're a booty call.
It the guy doesn't want to date you or just watch a movie at home...you're a bootycall.

Relationship:
If he spends time with you
If he respects your space, thoughts, ideas & opinions
If he listens and talks to you
If he wants to make sure you are satisfied first
If he wants to make sure you are happy
If he puts your feelings first at times
It he stays some nights with you or vice versa
If you are important to him, he will stake his claim
this list goes on and on....

Ladies, you either are going to continue to settle for being the "bootycall" or you're going to stop and hold out for something REAL! Sometimes, the 1 minute or 2 minute feeling doesn't mount up to lyfe tyme results.

Hey, I know that some women are happy getting that call. We will always have bootycall women and thats their choice. Some, well like my dear special friend once told me: some just aren't cut out.

So ladies you choose because We can't keep blaming the man unless he is fooling and tricking you and even then you only get burned once!

I just wonder, how others feel about the bootycall?

The Diva Confession

Have you every felt afraid to vocalize your thoughts because someone may not accept them? Let's be honest and tell the truth.

Do you face any challenges on a day to day basis when it comes to being heard?

For some of us, we are very vocal and can eloquently communicate our thoughts and opinions. But for many, like myself. Its a struggle.

I had this training class the other day on "effective communication"! It was great and I learned a few things that I can implement in my daily personal communication style.

After the class, I began to self identify with my communication style, my thought process and how I listen. I realized that some people truly don't stop and think before they speak.

I'm learning:
1. to stop jumping to conclusions,
2. take time to filter my thoughts,
3. seek the truth and root of the matter before I go summarizing
4. Respond only after given the facts and
5. believe that I have a voice that makes a difference.

This was a big big problem of mine. And again at this training, I was reminded of the "offensive position" rather than the "defensive position".

I've been soo use to playing defense, I mean, I'm trying. I'm really trying to adjust that I am now on a whole new team and a whole new level. The offensive team really is the team you want to be on because it helps you effectively commumicate.

Just a Diva Confession that I thought I would share.

What would the world look like without black people

In honor of Black History Month

I found this video and wanted to share. Here are some little known facts that doesn't get recognized. Did you know?

Valentine Treasures

Tonight, I'm feeling like Cinderella.

Valentine treasures are people who
often cross your mind,
family, friends and others, too,
who in your life have shined
the warmth of love or a spark of light
that makes you remember them;
no matter how long since you’ve actually met,
each one is a luminous gem,
who gleams and glows in your memory,
bringing special pleasures,
and that’s why this Valentine comes to you:
You’re one of those sparkling treasures!

Love you all and from my heart to yours;
Happy Valentines Day
